MIXING

The art of mixing is more than just balancing the elements. Special care has to be taken not to kill the vibe or groove of the track in question. I use a hybrid setup of analog equipment and high quality digital plugins to carve and create a rich and sweet sonic character. The process for this is as follows…

• Gain staging and the balancing of elements

• PROCESSING - Giving the individual elements character, separation and space using EQ, compression and saturation.

• FX - Adding FX such as reverb and delay creating a space around sounds.

• AUTOMATION - automating the volumes of certain elements or the volumes of reverbs and delays to give the song a special feel.
